Share a Meal is a House of Maria initiative that brings together experienced entrepreneurs, business owners, and community leaders with emerging young entrepreneurs for meaningful one-on-one conversations over a shared meal. Through honest conversations about success, failure, faith, leadership, and life, we hope to preserve wisdom, inspire the next generation, and strengthen the entrepreneurial community in Tonga. Every conversation is filmed and shared through House of Maria so that many more people can learn from the experience.

Why Share a Meal?

Some of life's greatest lessons are learned across a table, not in a classroom. Many young entrepreneurs may never have the opportunity to sit down with experienced business owners and leaders. Share a Meal exists to create those moments—one conversation at a time.

How It Works

1. House of Maria invites an experienced entrepreneur or community leader.
2. We match them with an emerging young entrepreneur.
3. We host and provide the meal.
4. The conversation is filmed.
5. The story is shared to encourage others.

House of Maria began with a simple desire to faithfully steward what had been placed in our hands. What started as a family dream has grown into something much greater than a business. It has become a place where opportunities are created, communities are served, and people are equipped.

The name House of Maria is a tribute to our mother, Maria, whose life of faith, generosity, and love continues to shape who we are. More than a name, it reminds us that a house is meant to be a place of welcome—a place where people feel valued, encouraged, and at home.

From the very beginning, we believed that business could be more than buying and selling. We believed it could create opportunities for others, strengthen relationships, and become a practical expression of serving our communities.

As House of Maria has grown, so has our understanding of what we have been entrusted with. Every relationship, resource, opportunity, and responsibility is something to be managed faithfully. This conviction shapes every decision we make and every new venture we pursue.

Today, our work is expressed through three commitments.

Create Opportunities

We build businesses and initiatives that create opportunities for others. We seek to provide meaningful employment, create space for local makers, entrepreneurs, and vulnerable members of our community, and develop sustainable ventures that support Kingdom purposes.

Serve Communities

We believe stronger communities are built when people faithfully serve one another. We work alongside churches, Christian ministries, NGOs, businesses, and community organisations to meet practical needs and contribute to the wellbeing of our communities.

Equip

We believe knowledge, wisdom, and experience are gifts to be shared. Through resources, conversations, storytelling, and initiatives, we seek to equip people to grow in faith, stewardship, leadership, and purpose.
